Who Are We?

Darcia Parada
Writer/Director/Producer
Darcia Parada is a Director and Producer of innovative and critically acclaimed interpretations of classic works with often "standing room only" audiences. Attendees liken Parada's immersive shows to "being on a film set." Awarded The Globe and Mail's Top 10 Catalysts in Art and Design, Telus' Courage to Innovate, a residency at The Baryshnikov Arts Centre, the subject of an OMNI hour long documentary and more, Parada first trained as a singer, performing in North America and Europe and on film scores for Decca, London, and SONY before turning to producing and directing.
Her fearless undertakings include fully mounted intimate to epic stage productions using strip clubs, diners, tents, subway platforms, back alleys, rooftops, riverboats, the Coney Island Sideshow, classic theatres, and the 1500 seat outdoor Badlands amphitheatre. Like Orson Welles and Sydney Pollock who came before her, the transition from the stage to writing and directing for film are a natural progression.
